Worship Program FAQs
Do I have to use the set outlines for my program?
No. While Worship Program is designed to create programs for approved celebrations, you can simply select the date of the celebration and resource, and then de-select all the options and press Go. You will then have a single element, the celebration heading, which you can also delete.
Can I start with a blank program?
Yes. Even though you need to select a source and a celebration, you can de-select all the options and go. You will have a single element on your screen. You can then create all of your own celebration elements.
Can I change the order of elements?
Yes. While you will not often do this, you can add, subtract or change the order of the elements in your program. Worship Program is not a liturgy planning service, and so you will be responsible for any changes you make to the established order of service.
Can I hear the songs before I add them?
Yes. Many of the titles in Worship Program have MP3 sound samples associated with them. If you see the speaker symbol simply click on it and you will hear a clip of the song.
Many songs have the same title. How do I know which one to use?
The composer of the song is listed with the title. If this doesn't help, mouse over the title of the song in the select area to see the first line of the song. If a sound sample is available, you can listen to the song before selecting it.
Can I share my Worship Program subscription?
Worship Program is designed to be used in association with a church account. Because of this, you may assign up to four other people as users of this account. Simply click on "My Account" then "Manage Users" and follow the instructions there.
Can I add my own songs to my program?
Yes. You can use the Custom Text element to add the lyrics of your own songs to your program. If you want to add just the song title, you can use the normal song element and choose the "Title and Song #" option.
We are preparing a program for Confirmation. Can I add a page of names of those being confirmed to my program?
Yes. Use the Custom Text element and select one, two, or three columns. If you want the names to start at the top of a page, simply add a page break before you add the names.
What is a masthead?
A masthead contains a graphic plus the name of the celebration and the text you enter to create a heading. Normally, it appears at the top of the first page. It can be used instead of a cover page or it can indicate the beginning of a special moment in the liturgy or a different celebration. For example, at an Ordination, you might want a masthead at the beginning of the Ordination rite, or if you are creating a single program for the entire Triduum you might have mastheads for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday.
Do I have to have a cover or masthead?
No. Even though it is a default element, if you choose not to have either of these, simply delete the element from your program.
Can I search the entire Bible for a scripture passage?
No. If you have a scripture passage that is in the Lectionary, it will display in the scripture search on a reading element. If the passage is not in the lectionary, it will not display. If you are not sure, enter the book and chapter of your passage, and the search will return what is available. If you need to add a passage not contained in the Lectionary, you may add it, with the proper permissions, using the Custom Text option.
Can I create a hymnal using Worship Program?
No. Worship Program limits to 25 the number of songs and to 64 the number of pages you can include in a program.
How much do copyright permissions cost for using music in my program?
That depends on how you access permission. If you have a broad coverage license like LicenSingOnline, OneLicense.net, or CCLI, your reprint permission for a song might be covered by that license. Check your license information to see if the song you are using is covered. (For more information, visit licensingonline.org). If you seek permission directly from a publisher, your costs, if any, will vary by publisher. If a song is in the Public Domain, permission is not required.
My LicenSingOnline license is not importing to Worship Program. What’s wrong?
LicenSingOnline licenses will be imported automatically into Worship Program, but in order for auto-import to function properly, your license and Worship Program subscription must have the same account name (name of church or individual) and billing address.
How much does Worship Program cost?
A one year subscription to Worship Program costs $299 (this includes a subscription to Song Print). You can add a Worship Program upgrade to an existing Song Print subscription for $169.
