Song Print FAQ
Can I create my own versions/translations of songs?
Copyright law and simple justice require respect for the integrity of the original song texts. Any translations must be approved by the copyright holder. This is also good practice, since it allows people from different churches to sing the same song with the same words.
Can I cut and paste selected verses?
Yes. If you download in GIF format you can manipulate the image in most word processing programs.
What is a GIF format? What software do I need to download music into GIFs?
GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. Our high-resolution GIF images are easily downloaded and edited by most graphics-editing and/or word processing softwares. The images are 400 dpi (dots per inch), so you can create very high quality printouts.
Can I hear the song before I download the print version?
Many of the titles in Song Print have MP3 sound samples associated with them. If you see the speaker symbol simply click on it and you will hear a clip of the song.
Can I see the song before I download the print version?
Song Print offers a preview function that allows you to ensure that you have selected the correct song to download.
Can I share my Song Print subscription?
Song Print is designed to be used in association with a church account. Because of this, you may assign up to four other people as users of this account. Simply click on "My Account" then "Manage Users" and follow the instructions there.
Do I need to log in each time I download a song?
Song Print will ask for your log in information the first time you download a song. After that you will not be asked for this information again so long as your browser stays open on the PrintandPraise.com site. If you close the PrintandPraise.com site and then return, you will have to log in again.
How are songs selected for Song Print?
All the music from our most popular music resources in English and Spanish were chosen for the launch of Song Print. Titles from LicenSingOnline and from new OCP resources will be continually added.
How much do copyright permissions cost?
That depends on how you access permission. If you have a broad coverage license like LicenSingOnline.org, OneLicense.net, or CCLI, your reprint permission for a song might be covered by that license. Check your license information to see if the song you are using is covered. (For more information, visit licensingonline.org). If you seek permission directly from a publisher, your costs, if any, will vary by publisher. If a song is in the Public Domain, permission is not required.
How much does Song Print cost?
A one year subscription to Song Print costs $130.
I forgot my password. How do I find it again?
Just click the "Forgot your password?" link in the log-in process and an email will immediately be sent to you with your password.
What editions of music are available through Song Print?
Song Print offers songs in text/melody editions for all of our titles. In addition, all titles in Spanish and hundreds in English include a words-only version.
What fonts are used in Song Print music?
The following fonts are used:
Titles: Optima Bold 13 pt
Composer Names: Optima Medium 7.5 pt
Copyrights: Optima Medium 7 pt
Text only (for Spanish): Universe 55 9 pt
Lyrics: Univers 10 pt
Labels: Univers 8 pt
Please note that the Univers font may be hard to find for some users; in that case, Helvetica is a nice substitute.
Do you support the Copy Special plug-in for editing PDFs?
No, PrintandPraise.com no longer supports the Copy Special plug-in that allowed users to edit music in PDF format. If you need to edit music images, we encourage you to download them in GIF format. Most word processing programs allow for the manipulation of GIF files/images.
